SLEAP’s next SLEAP Out
Will be overnight on Friday 6th March until the morning of Saturday 7th March 2026.
What is the SLEAP Out?
Past SLEAP outs raised awareness of homelessness and much needed funds for SLEAP’s work with homeless young people. The last one in January 2025 was very successful with many young people participating. They experienced what it would be like to sleep rough for one night in the middle of winter. The sleepers raised money by sponsorship.
Fun and Practical Stuff
As last year the Sleep Out will take place at the United Reformed Church, on Hough Lane, Leyland (opposite Iceland). It will run from from 7.30pm on Friday 6th March until 7.30am the next morning. The event will be well staffed with SLEAP staff and trustees to keep everyone safe. There will be access to URC Church during the night for toilet use, to make hot drinks and serve snacks.
After arriving one of the first tasks will be to construct a bed for the night with ‘sleeping out’ materials including cardboard boxes and plastic sheeting. The evening and night will be a mixture of keeping warm, encouraging each other and trying to get to sleep!
